2gether NHS Foundation Trust

The county of Gloucestershire is served by the 2Gether Partnership Trust, serving a population of 480,000. The two placements for the Specialist Registrars are with the services based in the cities of Cheltenham and Gloucester.

Clinical meetings
The STs will be expected to attend the clinical meetings currently held monthly in term time in   Bath, Swindon & Gloucestershire - 9 meetings per year.

Library facilities
There is a small library in the Delancey team base and easy access to the postgraduate medical library at Cheltenham General Hospital.  A general psychiatric library and postgraduate medical centre are nearby to Cleeve House, which also has its own well-supplied child psychiatric library.

 Medical and clinical audit
There is an active multidisciplinary audit programme in the service as well as regular medical audit meetings.  There is a well-established audit committee in the old East Gloucestershire Trust.  Specialist Registrars will be expected to complete an audit project during their attachment.

Research
The two sessions per week of research time are protected.  The local libraries offer both   CD-ROM and online search facilities.  Supervision is available locally.

Teaching
There are opportunities and expectations to teach trainees on the general psychiatry rotation in Gloucestershire, contribute to local CPD meetings, teach primary health care workers and teach local voluntary groups and parent groups as requested.

Management and Planning
Locally the ongoing review of the service will be a learning experience with active involvement.

On call duties
A one in five rota covers across the county always with a consultant second on-call.
